What Free includes, how the monthly processing limit works, and what Pro removes.

Free

These work on Free, Pro Monthly, and Pro Lifetime:

  • Unlimited items, sources, and sets.
  • Chat with Library.
  • Chat with Knowledge Base (questions about pinakea itself).
  • On-demand day/daypart summaries.
  • Opening cached summaries and loading previous chat history.
  • Web Server.
  • MCP Connector.
  • Raycast Extension local access.
  • Save to pinakea Apple Shortcut clipping.
  • Keyword, title, and content search.
  • Export and copy workflows.

Cloud AI uses your own OpenRouter key with no pinakea markup. See OpenRouter and BYOK.

Library access requires a valid pinakea account session and this Mac must be active on that account. If status cannot be confirmed, open pinakea on that Mac and choose Refresh Status. If you see an active-device lock, choose Activate this Mac; if your account already has five active Macs, deactivate one you no longer use first. Account-lock dialogs also include Quit pinakea if you prefer to leave the app instead of signing in or recovering access.

Monthly processing limit

Free starts with a 30-day full-feature trial. After the trial, Free includes 15 newly AI-processed items per month.

Processing means the AI enrichment stages for a new item:

  • embeddings,
  • AI-generated title,
  • summary.

The monthly processing limit is not spent by chat, existing content, day/daypart summaries, Web Server, MCP, Raycast, Shortcut clipping, copy, or export.

When the Free monthly processing limit is reached, over-limit items remain visible and readable. Their original title and raw content stay keyword-searchable. They wait for AI enrichment until the next monthly reset or a Pro upgrade. AI title and summary surfaces show the Free-limit placeholder while an item is waiting.

Pro

Pro Monthly and Pro Lifetime remove the monthly new-item processing limit.

Pro Lifetime stays governed by the current purchased-major-version terms.
