Chrome extension

Install and enable the pinakea Chrome and Chromium browser extension.

The Chrome extension ships inside pinakea. You install or update it from the app rather than downloading a separate ZIP from the website.

Install or Update

  1. Open pinakea.
  2. Choose pinakea -> Install or Update Chrome Extension….
  3. Choose whether to prepare only your default Chromium browser or all detected Chromium browsers.
  4. Follow the in-app instructions to open chrome://extensions, enable Developer Mode, and select Load Unpacked.
  5. Click Reveal Folder in pinakea and choose the revealed folder in Chrome.

pinakea stages the extension in an app-owned support folder so the browser can keep using the same Load Unpacked path across app updates. After pinakea updates, it refreshes that folder automatically after startup; reload the extension or restart the browser to pick up the new version.

If you install a new Chromium browser later, run Install or Update Chrome Extension… again so pinakea can add that browser’s native messaging connector. If clips do not arrive, use Settings -> Sources -> Reauthorize in pinakea.
